Although it is not necessary to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Alaska, there are no specific statutes or regulations restricting firearms on public college or university property. The University of Alaska Board of Regents, however, has a policy banning concealed handguns on all University of Alaska campuses including community colleges.
As of June 24, 2022, no private or public universities, colleges, or community colleges permit weapons inside of buildings or on school grounds.
